Houdini Digital Deconstruction
Sometimes you have a very simple geometry and you need to make a beauty out of it. Let's say you have a simple rocket and you need to deconstruct it on pieces, as if there were some kind of covers and layers. But all you have is only a single tube. And here we are! The deconstruction HDA divides the input geometry onto blocks of a given size and animate them procedurally to show the beauty. This is the simplest and effective way to create a rich look. Similar to Explode View SOP but with your choice of blocks, animation parameters (both deconstruction and construction back) and direction of moving. Then there are further suggestions: digital texturing, wire edges, glass rendering.
Great for digital look and motion design.
Open asset! You can see what's inside and possibly improve or break everything.
NOTE: The HDA itself is render-independent, but the final overlook is created with Redshift. You will need Redshift if you want check how the texture, glass material and rendering work.
The best results can be achieved with a hard-surface mechanical geometry, because of the topology.
